White Rose...where faith is the cornerstone of love three years running.

What can I say about White Rose? As much as I love historical romance (which is why I'm always grateful for my involvement in English Tea rose), my heart belongs to the Lord, and my greatest joy always comes in glorifiying Him in some small way. And, what better way to evangelize in a non-invasive way than to entertain a reader while they see the Christian struggle in a hero and heroine and see those imaginary people FROG (fully rely on God)? This is what White Rose is all about: Quality inspirational romance that celebrates human love and glorfies the God Who made us.

Most of you know that recently it became apparent that there was something we needed to do in order for us to grow White Rose even more than it had over time--we needed to sprout wings and fly to a new publishing house. We did that on March 1, 2009, and since that time, submissions have skyrocketed, and sales have escalated! I couldn't be happier. God is good. White Rose Publishing is still very much a part of the garden--we're just across the hedge and past the gazebo in our own little nook where angels circle all day long directing readers and authors to our new endeavor.

So, wanna know what's new at WRP? We're doing something special for members of our White Rose Readers' group--an exclusive free novella. Coming in the fall of 2009, Once Upon a Collar by Teri Wilson, will be released in weekly installments. You won't want to miss this fun romantic comedy, so join our readers' group (FREE, of course!), and you'll get this and other exclusive free reads.

Whenever Emilie Bonner meets a man, she can’t help but imagine what he would look like on top of a wedding cake. Since she spends most of her waking hours designing wedding cake toppers, it’s somewhat of an occupational hazard.

Somewhere along the way—perhaps after the first two hundred or so—hand-crafted bridegrooms, Emilie begins to doubt she’ll ever find her own happily-ever-after. Then, after a mysterious encounter with a woman who could be an angel, Emilie meets a handsome stranger at the dog park.

At first, it seems as though Matt, with his big dopey dog and irrepressible charm, is the Prince Charming she’s been waiting for.
Not only is he a sweetheart, but he’d look great on top of a wedding cake.

Soon, however, she discovers something about him that changes everything and leaves her wondering…does God believe in fairy tales?

ok so i love any stories involving pets especially dogs because i love dogs... my family and i have 4 and they are all rescues... so this story sounds great... definately adding it to my wishlist... :) also love the cover too... the black dog reminds me of my dog, Bear aka Bubba Dog... he's big and goofy and always knows how to make me laugh/smile :D

Well, holy moley. I popped in for White Rose hour and was pleasantly surprised to see my own book cover!

Come on everyone and join our loop - Once Upon a Collar has been such fun to write so far. I'm having a ball with it and what could be more fun for readers than a FREE novella? Hmm?

Happy birthday to everyone here at TWRP. I heard a rumor that today is also Rhonda's actual birthday...is that true? I'm meeting her tonight at the Merritt Conference dinner, so I got her a card and a little something just in case.

Blessings, Teri

Like, Nic, my heart is always with White Rose. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy Crimson and the fast-paced genre. Everything about it gets my heart racing. But there will always be a special place in my heart for white rose and the authors I edit here. We all know the words come from God but it is sure fun to be along for the ride.

Nicola said...

OK...and happy birthday again. I just can't stop. Anyone who joins the readers' loop today gets a free rosette, too! Here's that link.

Just a peronal side note - remember just a few short 32 months ago, Nic, we started in this garden. Cool, huh?? :) Happy Birthday, cohort

Well, I promised Teri we'd announce her serial novella sometime this week. TWRPs anniversary seemed like the perfect time. :)

Silver, how cool that your B-day is March 1. You can be the designated reminder of WRPs launch date.

Danie88, I agree that dog is adorable.

When I joined TWRP at the beginning of 2008, I was so excited to learn I'd be working with White Rose. For me, a story doesn't get much better than romance and faith combined. Seeing the hero and heroine grow in their Christianity and their love for each other leads to what I think of as the ultimate happy-ever-after.

I feel so blessed to be a part of the White Roses. What a great group of authors, editors and readers we have here!

I am so thrilled to be a White Rose author. My first two books were in the Crimson Line and I adore suspense, especially romantic suspense. Now I've moved into White Rose where I can write inspirational romantic suspense! It doesn't get any better than this.

What a joy to celebrate both the birthday of The Wild Rose Press and also the birthday of one of the ladies who had a dream and followed it through!

Happy Birthday!!

Blessings,

Amber, I couldn't have said it better myself. :)

Ooh, inspirational romantic suspense. One of my favorite subgenres...of course, I can't think of a subgenre of inspirational romance that I don't like. LOL :)

Hello White Roses. I have a few author friends who are with the white rose line, so I've joined the group even though I don't write inspirtionals myself (I might though, it's a line I love to read)

Teri, I'm looking forward to our serial. What a great idea - love the title. As a horse and dog lover myself I really enjoy your stories.

JoAnn said...

I loved your comments, Nicola. Especially those about glorifiying God through the books we read and write.

You've done a super job with the WHITE ROSE line. I'm so pleased with the changes TWRP has made. Thanks for all you've done.

Happy Birthday, TWRP!

Once Upon a Collar sounds good!

It's comforting to know I can always find a faith-promoting and clean story without all the sex and bad language so many other lines have. Keep up the good work!

Elizabeth West said...

Lyn, readers are just as important as the authors. Without them, who would read the books? :)

I'm glad you enjoy the White Rose stories.

Elizabeth West said...

Thanks for stopping by, JoAnn! Glorifying God is what we all want and pray for.

I am so proud and thrilled to be a White Rose author. My first three books are with this line and they all happened one two three---thanks to Lori. I love it here in the garden and feel truly blessed to be a part of it. Happy Birthday TWRP! And congratulations on your new free read, Teri, sounds like you got a fan club already. Toasting one up to Nicola and Lori. Cheers for the awesome editors of White Rose Publishing!

Amy S., it does sound good, doesn't it? I'm looking forward to the opportunity to read it.

Happy birthday TWRP! I am so glad to be a part of both The Wild Rose Press and White Rose Publishing.

Teri, I can't wait to read your story. How did you come up with the job of wedding cake topper designer (that's a mouthful) for your heroine?

Silver James said...

I just realized that's a Newfie on the cover! Newfies are wonderful! Every one of them that's owned us has been a marvelous addition to the family. I must read the book now!

Elizabeth West said...

Donna, that's one of the reasons I'm so happy to be a part of White Rose Publishing. I can be assured that the stories we publish are good clean stories of love and faith, and I have no worries about my mother reading anything I've edited! LOL:)

I'm so glad everyone is excited about the novella. I couldn't be happier to be a part of this thriving, wonderful garden!

Aw, Sharon, you make me blush. :) I really want to thank the White Rose authors. You guys have made the garden bloom and grow. Who knew three years ago that we would be where we are today. Nobody dreamed it would go this high. We have passed all goals set for the company and are working on new ones. What a great place to be in. Again, without the authors and readers, this would just be another website. You guys are all awesome.

Nicke,
The WRP Pub blog looks great!

Today is the last day of the class I've been taking. Maybe I can start paying attention to what's going on around here again.

Elizabeth West said...

Sharon and Kara, here's to the authors like you who provide the wonderful stories that make the White Rose garden bloom! We're glad to have you with us.

Teri Wilson, Romancing the pet lover's soul said...

Kara, I cannot claim to have that vivid of an imagination. I actually met a woman with that job and I knew right away I had to use it in a book. It is perfect for a romance heroine, right??

I just have to give a shout-out to my cohorts. Anna, Lori and I came to WR at the same time, and we bonded instantly b/c of our love for inspy romance. Then, Elizabeth West came along, and she's a definite Godsend! Wise beyond her years when it comes to recognizing a great story.

And then there are our authors. I can't tell you what a blessing it is to get to work with such a faith-filled and talented bunch of people!

Thanks to you all...

And thanks to those others of you who have supported us during the past three years. I'm looking forward to another three and beyond.

Nicola said...

Thanks, Kara. Glad you like the look of the blog. We're going to have regular posts over there for readers and authors. We'll have how-to articles, etc., and also we're going to start featuring White Rose author spotlights there--so something for everyone...now if I could just sit long enough to get some real work done.

(My back is much better, btw. Thanks for all your prayers. They've done wonders for me this week.)

Kara Lynn Russell said...

Thank you Elizabeth and Nicola. I know I am blessed to be a part of WRP.

Teri, I love it when characters have unusual professions. In one of the stories I'm currently working on, the heroine is a "baby concierge" or someone who advises people on getting ready for their baby.

Elizabeth West said...

Aww, thanks, Nicola! I love working with WR, and I'm so blessed to have a place in the garden. The editors, authors, and readers make it the sunny place it is!

Hello everyone, and Happy Birthday, Wild Rose Press! I'm a White Rose author due to my January 2009 release, Preacher Man! It was such a pleasure working with Anne Seymour, my editor, and Kim Mendoza, my cover artist and I was so pleased with the end result of my book. TWRP did a great job bringing my baby to life!

Nicola said...

And the winner of the White Rose Hour is Hywela Lyn. Congrats! Hywela.

Kara Lynn Russell said...

Laurie,
Thank you for mentioning cover artists. I think we all love the beautiful covers WRP/TWRP has.

While we're giving out thanks...Thanks to Nicola and Kim and the other artists (don't mean to be impersonal, but I've only worked w/Nicola and Kim) for giving us such goregeous, sale-inspiring covers.

Laurie, I adore Preacher Man!!!! It is one of my favorite books.

Kara - baby concierge! I love it.

Nicola, my hat is completely off to you in the launch of a line that just touches my heart!!!! Faith is the cornerstone of my life, and finding a publisher like WRP that takes that fact to "heart" (pun intended! LOL!) means so much. Thanks for helping to spearhead such an incredible move forward for inspy romance! The books I've read are awesome, the talent untouchable. Please, keep bringing it on!! More, more, more!!! In faith, hope and love,
Marianne

Also, I just scanned and signed up for the WRP staff blog -- it's amazing (the homepage is gorgeous, btw!!) Love it!

Nicola said...

Thanks for the kind words, Kara. I truly enjoy creating covers as much as editing, and Kim and the other cover artists are fantastic.

Also, thank you to Marianne. White Rose is close to my heart and hopefully we'll see her blossom to bursting in the near future. :)

White Rose is where my heart is. Love those inspies, especially when the characters show spunk and spark.

I am thankful for all the editors of WRP. Nicola, Lori, Anna, and Elizabeth.

Glad your back is mending, Nicola. I have to stop and thank you for the awesome cover on "Journey To Forgiveness" and for cutting out those 40 "gulp" unnecessary pages to make the story flow better. I have heard nothing but compliments from my readers.

And that 5-star review from You Gotta Read, how can it get any better?

I so happy to be part of this wonderful White Rose group. The authors are phenomenal, too. Always there when you need support. I want to thank you for that.

Can' wait to see what another year will bring. With all of us praying together, how can the sales not skyrocket?

After all, God and faith is what inspy is all about.

Well, better late than never I guess.

Sorry I couldn't be here earlier, FRIENDS but had company when I got home from work.

I too am SO very glad to be a part of the entire garden, but especially the White Roses.

I love the fact that I can write what I write, "Inspirational with an Edge!" and it's OK, in fact welcomed!

That is such a change from the trad market.

And, I'm humbled to be in the company such wonderful writers, artists and editors.

Thank you ALL for what you do!
