TWRP's Happy Birthday Blog Party

Happy Birthday! (How come I hear Frosty the Snowman saying that in my head?) Three years ago, we opened the garden gates and welcomed everyone inside. Back then we had no idea if anyone would want to come in and walk down our path or not. Everyone knows the story of how RJ had this wild idea to open a publishing company and how I was a reluctant partner in her craziness. We were two critique partners who had a passion for writing and all we knew about opening a publishing company was what we didn’t want it to be. I’m so proud of many things around here but I think the thing I am the most proud of is that we have stuck to our roots (pun intended). As we’ve grown, we never forgot why we started The Wild Rose Press in the first place. We wanted a publishing house by writers for writers.

Now there’s so many of us here we’ve had to spread out. We’ve opened up a brand new garden for our White Roses. We had to transplant and expand our Scarlet Roses almost two years ago already and they’ve bloomed beautifully in their own corner of the garden. To say things are sunny and sweet smelling is cliché but oh so true. We have more than 500 lovely roses aka authors with us. We have a library of over 1200 titles and still growing. To be honest, none of us ever knew we’d be where we are today but what a wonderful surprise this journey has been.

So come celebrate with us today as we host our very own birthday party on our blog. Each line in the garden will host a time slot and we’ll give away stories and prizes every hour. At the end of the night, we’ll randomly pull a name from everyone who has stopped by and commented throughout the event and that person will win a beautiful rose tote bag stuffed full of books and other goodies sure to brighten anyone’s day.

I can’t let this day go by without saying thank you to everyone who has been on this journey with us, and those who are brand new to the garden. Everyone from the editors to the artists to the authors and readers, everyone involved with this company has been responsible for helping it bloom and grow. We never would be where we are without all of you and so I thank you and I celebrate with you on this wonderful May Day. Happy Birthday to all of us! Now come on, let’s get the party started.

Happy Birthday, Rhonda, RJ and THE WILD ROSE PRESS. TWRP gave me the chance to see 'the book of my heart' released to the world, and to hold the published copy in my hands. Thank you and may the garden grow and prosper each new year.
