Watch out for these redundant words:
Stand (up) Sit (down) Turned (back) Needs (to be) He thought (to himself) The following are words that you can usually cut from your manuscript. They are too wordy: Instead Seemed That had Been Suddenly Words that sometimes trip us up Lay – to place Lie – to recline Quite, quiet, quit (easy words to type wrong) Affect – is the verb Effect – is the noun |
